Sources and materials
In developing Goal-Oriented Decision Making (GOD), there came a point where simply listing references was no longer sufficient. It was not clear which references were most influential or to be considered primary sources, nor was it clear how different sources and materials might be connected to one another. Therefore, both for personal understanding, as well as for anyone interested in digging a bit deeper into the origins and evidence supporting GOD, this page was created.
Below links are provided to several fields or disciplines with a primary influence on the development of GOD, including but not limited to;
- Goal Theory (Edwin Locke & Gary Latham, Peter Gollwitzer & Gabrielle Oettingen, Carol Dweck, Angela Duckworth)
- Naturalistic Decision Making (Gary Klein, Robert Hoffman, Brian Moon, John Schmitt, Karl Weick)
- Rational Decision Making (Herbert Simon, Irving Janis & Leon Mann, Daniel Kahneman & Amos Tversky)
- Educational Psychology (Albert Bandura, Lev Vgotsky, Bobby Hoffman, Gregory Schraw, Gale Sinatra, Marcel Zeelenberg)
- Philosophy (Edmund Husserl, Immanuel Kant, Martin Heidegger, John Locke, Georg Hegel)
There were many sources used to develop GOD, most of which are secondary. Below is a complete list of sources and materials that in some way were influential. Apologies to any overlooked author, creator, or contributor.
